TWD: World Peace Cookies
Finally... the cookies that I've been hearing about and reading about everywhere since I joined the Tuesdays with Dorie group. World Peace Cookies!
But here's my little secret - I made these MONTHS ago because I just had to try them. I was even smart enough to take pictures, just in case I didn't want to make them again when the time came that they were chosen for this group.
Well, I absolutely loved these cookies - no surprise there. I didn't make them over again this week, though I would have if I'd had time. My hubby enjoyed these too, and we gave some away to friends who'd just had a baby. They raved about them as well. It's no wonder these cookies are famous!
They were much easier to make than I had anticipated. I really wish I had something insightful to say about them, but I'm having one of those days where I'm totally stressed. I'm lucky enough to actually get these posted today, instead of Wednesday! My son is currently sitting on the floor next to me ripping the newspaper into shreds. What possesses kids to do these things? And my couch cushions are soaked with milk from a leaky sippy cup. Can you guess what I'm about to go do? We should seriously own stock in Resolve. I can tell it's gonna be one of those days. I wish I had one of these to eat right now...
If you'd like to make these delicious cookies yourself, the recipe is on Jessica's blog over at Cookbookhabit. Thanks for finally choosing these, Jessica!!

I guess it is good that you made them awhile ago. They look delicious. Enjoy your litte one even with his destructivness today! :) Resolve is also my friend.
I think you should sit down and de-stress with 2 (or 8) of these cookies! They look delicious!
Those look great! Nice job!!!!
Your cookies look great.
Good luck getting through the day! Sometimes I will let mine take the kleenex out of a box, one by one, because it occupies her like nothing else can. Then I just put the tissues into a plastic grocery bag and hang them on a doorknob so people can help themselves -- classy. Your cookies look fabulous!! I hope that you get to make them again soon!
Oh, Jessica, I feel your pain, woman. To bake and and rear children, not always a pretty sight! I guess the thing that possesses them to rip paper to shreds and drip milk, is the same thing that possesses them to leave spilt things in the fridge.
Ugh...I feel your pain! I've had plenty of those days, and goodness knows there will be many, many more. I can't stand having to clean the couch cushions!! Frustrating. Anyway...about the cookies, they looked wonderful! I wish you had one now, too!
Aren't these just the best and easiest cookies? Yours look fantastic - I love the chocolate chunks and the slightly chewy texture. Glad everyone enjoyed them! NIce job!
I think after a day like today, you need a whole batch just for yourself!
Your cookies look great! Hope your day is getting better. Maybe this weekend you need to plan to make another batch?
They look fabulous. Maybe you should keep a log in the freezer for a day like this when you really need a cookie!
I want to be organized like you and make things ahead of time! Well done!
I have days like yours regularly...if I had these cookies regularly those days would not bother me so much! Bake more cookies, they will help!
Melissa, we are singing the same song, just a slightly different verse! I did the same as you - baked them a while ago but saved the pictures. Good thing too, because I've been a total stress bucket. Only problem is that I think a cookie would help (chocolate does help everything doesn't it?) but no WP cookies to be found around here!
Nancy
Your WP cookies look great. I hope things calm down for you!
I was a slacker last week and didn't make these cookies....looking at yours makes me wish I had!
